Mumbai: An IndiGo flight travelling from Kuwait to Hyderabad made an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) after authorities received a serious bomb threat on Tuesday morning.

The Hyderabad-bound aircraft landed safely and was immediately moved to an isolated bay, as part of strict emergency procedures. The bomb threat, reportedly sent via email, warned of an explosive device on board the aircraft. This prompted security agencies at both Hyderabad airport and Mumbai airport to launch full emergency protocols.

Bomb squad, CISF conduct detailed inspection

As soon as the emergency landing was completed, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel surrounded the aircraft. A thorough, multi-layered bomb threat inspection was carried out and nothing suspicious was found. Further investigation is on.
