IndiGo boosts frequencies on Mumbai–Amsterdam and Manchester routes due to strong demand

IndiGo is ramping up operations on its newly launched long-haul routes from Mumbai to Amsterdam and Manchester, citing strong passenger demand. Beginning September 20, 2025, the airline will operate 6 weekly flights on the Mumbai–Amsterdam sector, with plans to scale up to daily services from October 13, 2025. Similarly, the Mumbai–Manchester route will see increased connectivity with 4 flights a week starting September 22. Bookings for the enhanced schedules are now open via the IndiGo website and mobile app.
The airline launched both routes in early July 2025, deploying its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner under a damp lease arrangement with Norse Atlantic Airways. These routes mark IndiGo’s strategic entry into long-haul international operations.
To further strengthen its wide-body fleet, IndiGo is set to induct five additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners within the current financial year. The first of these new aircraft is expected to arrive by mid-September, underscoring the airline’s aggressive push into the long-haul market.
With these increased frequencies and upcoming aircraft additions, IndiGo continues to solidify its position as a key player on long-haul routes from India, expanding its global footprint and enhancing options for Indian travellers heading to Europe.
