Railways to retire UTS app from March 1, pushes passengers to shift to RailOne

New Delhi: Indian Railways has announced that its widely used UTSonMobile (UTS) app will be phased out beginning March 1, urging commuters to move early to the newly launched RailOne platform for uninterrupted services.

Passengers can sign in to RailOne using their existing IRCTC or UTS login details, eliminating the need for fresh registrations. Railway officials said the app is designed as a one-stop digital solution, combining ticket bookings, live train updates, food ordering and grievance redressal into a single interface.

As part of the initial transition, services such as season ticket issuance, renewals and new user registrations on the UTS app have already been suspended. This was followed by restrictions on platform ticket bookings and R-Wallet recharges, although the app continues to be listed on app stores for the time being.

Indian Railways has assured users that any remaining R-Wallet balance will be securely transferred and remain usable through the RailOne app.

What RailOne offers

RailOne enables passengers to book reserved, unreserved and platform tickets using multiple payment options including UPI, cards, net banking and R-Wallet.

The app also provides real-time train movement updates, platform and coach positioning, along with features to track PNR status, refunds and cancellations. In addition, passengers can order meals directly to their seats from IRCTC-authorised vendors and submit complaints through the built-in RailMadad system.

Railway officials have advised travellers to switch early to avoid inconvenience as the UTS app approaches full decommissioning.
