Indian Railways Alert: RailOne offers 3% discount till July 14 as UTS app shuts March 1

Indian Railways is set to phase out its long-running UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) on mobile application, marking a significant shift in its digital ticketing strategy.
From March 1, the UTS app will no longer support ticket bookings, including unreserved tickets, platform passes, and season ticket services. The move is part of a broader effort to consolidate railway services into a unified platform, the newly launched RailOne super app.
For years, the UTS app served as the primary digital channel for passengers booking unreserved suburban and short-distance tickets.
However, with RailOne now positioned as Indian Railways’ single-window solution, commuters will be required to migrate to the new application for continued access to ticketing and related services.
RailOne has been designed as an integrated digital ecosystem combining features that were previously scattered across multiple railway apps.
The platform supports both reserved and unreserved ticket bookings, platform ticket issuance, live train tracking, PNR status checks, journey alerts, food ordering, and customer assistance.
By bringing these services under one interface, RailOne aims to simplify the user experience for millions of daily passengers.
Railway officials have advised existing UTS users to download RailOne ahead of the March 1 deadline to avoid last-minute disruptions. Notably, passengers will not need to create a new account.
Users can log in using their existing UTS credentials or IRCTC login details, ensuring a smoother transition.
The introduction of RailOne is expected to benefit not only daily suburban commuters but also occasional travellers who previously had to navigate multiple apps for different services. The unified design seeks to reduce confusion, cut booking time, and improve overall convenience.
3% Discount to Encourage Digital Payments
To incentivise passengers to adopt RailOne and encourage cashless transactions, Indian Railways is offering a 3% discount on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app when payments are made digitally.
The concession applies to transactions completed using UPI, debit cards, credit cards, net banking, and other approved digital payment modes.
The discount offer is valid for a limited promotional window from January 14 to July 14. Railway authorities clarified that the benefit is applicable only for bookings made directly via RailOne and will not extend to other platforms.
The shutdown of the UTS app represents another step in Indian Railways’ ongoing digital modernisation push. With RailOne emerging as the flagship passenger-facing application, the national transporter is betting on a more cohesive, user-friendly system to handle the growing demand for mobile-based ticketing and travel services.
