Indian Railways launches creative contest to design digital clocks and win ₹5 lakh prize

The Indian Railways has launched a nationwide contest inviting designs for new digital clocks to be installed across railway stations throughout the country. The initiative aims to bring uniformity to digital clocks used on platforms and station premises.
Participants from across India are encouraged to take part in the competition, which is divided into three categories—professionals, college and university students, and school students. The best design overall will be awarded a cash prize of ₹5 lakh.
In each category, five participants will receive consolation prizes worth ₹50,000 each, offering broader recognition to creative contributors.
The objective behind the contest is not only to improve the design consistency across railway infrastructure but also to engage young minds and professionals in contributing creatively to public utility services.
Interested individuals can submit their designs to contest.pr@rb.railnet.gov.in between May 1 and May 31.
The Railway Board's Executive Director (Information & Publicity), Dilip Kumar, stated that all submitted designs must be original and free from any copyright violations.
For school students participating in the competition, valid school identification is required, and eligibility extends up to class 12. The college category is open to students currently enrolled in recognised universities or colleges. The professional category covers all other individuals not falling under the student categories.
