Shocking: Khalistani extremist attempts to attack EAM S Jaishankar in London | VIDEO

London: In a shocking incident, Khalistani extremists attempted to attack Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar as he departed from a discussion at Chatham House, an independent policy institute in London.

A video shared on social media shows a man sprinting towards Jaishankar’s vehicle and tearing the Indian national flag. Pro-Khalistan demonstrators gathered outside the venue, waving flags and protesting against Jaishankar’s presence. 

EAM Jaishankar is on an official visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland from March 4 to 9 to provide renewed impetus to India's friendly ties with both the UK and Ireland.

A Ministry of External Affairs release said that India and the UK share a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has strengthened across diverse areas, including defence and security, trade and economy, health, education, and people-to-people ties.
