K K Venugopal and justice Nariman: ‘Guru’ and ‘Shishya’ walk down the memory lane

New Delhi: Attorney General K K Venugopal recollected his memories with Justice Rohinton Nariman who is retiring from Supreme Court here on Thursday. He was addressing the farewell function organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association for Justice Nariman. The function marked the reunion of the 'Guru and Shishya' as the AG and Justice Nariman opened up about their bond.
Venugopal showered praises on Nariman who was a junior in his chamber.
“I cannot let Justice Nariman leave the Supreme Court without saying a few words.He was a junior in my chamber and he was a star among all my juniors,” said the Attorney General.
“Justice Nariman is one of the finest legal minds and one of the finest judges that the top court has had. He is a constitutional czar par excellence," he added.
"As a judge he has more than 500 judgments and has made immense contribution to Indian jurisprudence," AG said.
Expressing gratitude, Justice Nariman said that AG Venugopal is his ‘Guru’ forever.
"I learnt a lot from him. I consider AG KK Venugopal as my ‘Guru’ forever," Justice Nariman said.
