India Alliance and Telangana Congress protest electoral roll issues, urea shortage

New Delhi: In a series of protests across the country, INDIA alliance Members of Parliament have voiced strong opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. The MPs have raised serious allegations of 'vote chori' (vote theft) against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission of India, questioning the fairness of the ongoing electoral process.

Meanwhile, Telangana Congress MPs staged a protest demanding the immediate release of urea for farmers in the state. Congress MP Mallu Ravi emphasised the critical importance of urea for the agricultural sector, stating, "Urea is the lifeline for Telangana farmers." He pointed out that while the Government of India had allocated 9 lakh metric tonnes of urea for Telangana, only 5 lakh metric tonnes have been released to date. The MPs urged the central government to expedite the distribution to support the farmers ahead of the crucial growing season.

In another protest, Members of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), including leaders Kalyan Banerjee and Mahua Moitra, raised concerns over the ongoing Bengali language controversy.

The MPs highlighted the importance of protecting regional languages and cultural identity.
