Income Tax notice served to Eknath Shinde and son amid Hotel auction row

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his son, MP Shrikant Shinde, were served income tax notices on Thursday. The development comes amid allegations by the opposition of possible financial irregularities in the recent auction of Bricks Hotel in Sambhajinagar.
Meanwhile, on getting a similar notice from the Income Tax department, Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat said, "No one is trying to suppress us. It is the IT department's work. We always said that we should cooperate with them. The ED department saw everyone equally. They sent me a notice too. Now it is my responsibility to provide an explanation of what was stated in the notice..."
