Is this IIT Bombay men's hostel? Netizens divided over viral video | WATCH

A video featuring a youth giving a tour of his hostel has gone viral on social media. The video, posted on X by the account Indian Tech&Infra, allegedly showcases a room in the IIT Bombay men's hostel.
Meanwhile, the identity of the individual who filmed the video remains unclear, and Mathrubhumi English has not independently verified its authenticity.
In response to the video, a user named Amit commented, "If IIT's hostel is like that..then what we can say now..IITs are one of the best Education Institutions in the country. Expect much better from this."
However, some users argued that the video depicts an older hostel building rather than a new one. One user stated, "...Look at the room tour of the new hostels, they are like a 5-star hotel. IIT Bombay is also working to scrap these old hostels and make newer ones," a user wrote.
Another user, Jeevan Rajput, added, "I can’t provide a video tour, but I can describe what a typical men's hostel room at IIT Bombay might be like! Rooms usually feature basic furnishings like a bed, study table, chair, and wardrobe. Most rooms accommodate two students, fostering a community environment. Facilities often include common bathrooms, laundry areas, and communal spaces for relaxation and study. Additionally, the hostels are equipped with Wi-Fi and may have recreational areas for socializing. The overall atmosphere is vibrant, reflecting the diverse student population and the lively campus life at IIT Bombay..."
Last month, Mumbai-based entrepreneur Udit Goenka shared a video of an IIT Delhi hostel room that showed the space in severe disrepair, with large sections of the ceiling crumbling. In the video, Udit remarked, "This happened at IIT Delhi yesterday!"
