Hyderabad horror: Woman brutally killed with cooker, throat slit; killers showered before escape

Hyderabad: In a chilling crime that has left Hyderabad shocked, a 50-year-old woman was found dead inside her home after being tied up, beaten with a pressure cooker, and having her throat slit with a knife and scissors.
The victim, Renu Agarwal, was discovered by her husband and son on Wednesday evening at their apartment in the upscale Swan Lake gated community in Cyberabad.
According to police, the attackers – identified as two domestic workers – looted the house, stealing 40 grams of gold and ₹1 lakh in cash, before taking a shower in the victim’s bathroom. They left behind their blood-stained clothes and fled on a stolen two-wheeler.
Timeline of the Murder
Around 10 am, Renu’s husband and son left for work. By evening, their repeated calls to her went unanswered. Suspecting trouble, they rushed home and, with the help of a plumber, entered the apartment through the balcony – only to find Renu’s lifeless body.
Investigators say her hands and feet were bound, she was assaulted with a cooker, and her throat was slit.
Prime Suspects: Domestic Workers on the Run
Police have zeroed in on two men – Harsha, recently employed at the Agarwal household via a Kolkata manpower agency, and Roushan, a worker at a neighbour’s house on the 14th floor.
CCTV footage shows the duo entering the 13th floor and leaving the premises at 5:02 pm. Both men, originally from Jharkhand, are suspected of heading towards Ranchi. The killers escaped on a two-wheeler belonging to Roushan’s employer.
Security Concerns Raised
The fact that the brutal killing happened within a gated community has sparked serious concerns about residential security and background checks of domestic staff.
Renu Agarwal’s body has been sent for a post-mortem. A manhunt is underway to track down the fugitives.
