Private bus catches fire on Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway, all 29 passengers safe

Hyderbad: A private bus caught fire in the early hours of Tuesday on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway in Nalgonda district, Telangana, police said.
The incident occurred at around 1:45 am in Chityal mandal as the bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Kandukur in Andhra Pradesh, carrying 29 passengers. Fortunately, none of the passengers were injured.
According to Nalgonda District Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar, the driver noticed smoke coming from the engine and immediately stopped the vehicle, instructing passengers to evacuate. Moments later, the bus was completely engulfed in flames.
A police team arrived at the scene, and two fire tenders were deployed to extinguish the blaze, the SP added.
The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation, authorities said.
This follows a bus accident that took place on the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway, killing 19 people.
