New Delhi: Veteran actor Prakash Belawadi, known for his performances in films like Baby John and Fateh, shared his thoughts on the newly launched book ‘The Modi Effect – Reinventing Bharat’, which chronicles the transformation of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Speaking to ANI, Belawadi reflected on the significance of the book, especially in the context of Modi’s third consecutive term as Prime Minister. “This is one more book on Narendra Modi because after 10 years, you know, that he uniquely got elected to a third term, he is even more under scrutiny than he was when he first came. He came into reckoning to become the prime minister of the country or the candidate for prime ministership with some tension and opposition within his own party," he said.

Belawadi recalled the political climate in which Modi first rose to national prominence. “There was tension and opposition certainly in many parts of India because there were stories being built on what had happened in Gujarat and so on,” he noted.

However, Belawadi pointed out that many dire predictions made during the 2013–2014 campaign did not materialise. “And 10 years from now, we should be able to look back and see what he has done. And the statistics are there. It's for you to accept it or not,” he added.

The actor praised Modi’s ability to connect with people across ideological lines, noting that the Prime Minister’s confidence among the masses has grown significantly. “What is important in this is that he has the confidence of so many sections of the people...he has no ego about reaching out to people or in centres where there is very strong opposition to him..What signifies is that when it comes to the question of country, I don't see he has any ego that comes in the way,” Belawadi said.
