What are the issues for Kaithal residents this election?
Kaithal has an electorate of approximately 1.7 lakh, and key local issues include agricultural reforms, job creation, and education. Farmers are particularly focused on the need for better support systems and market access. Aditya aims to resonate with these voters by promising innovative solutions and development initiatives, while also emphasising youth engagement and empowerment.
His family legacy definitely provided him with an advantage, but he also had to demonstrate his ability to address the unique challenges faced by constituents. Surjewala, now the third generation from his family to represent Kaithal, held a roadshow in the city to mark his victory. Earlier, he expressed his dedication to fighting against violence and division, urging voters to support Congress.
"I have wished for prosperity for the people of Kaithal. The development work that has stopped in the assembly seat, I wish to divert it into a path of progress. So many students are moving out of Kaithal for their future, I wish to change this. Our fight is against hooliganism, hatred that has been spread here. I am contesting elections for the development of Kaithal and we will bring development here. My family has been associated with Kaithal for more than 20 years. I have a strong bond here. I will appeal to people to vote for Congress for justice and development." he said.
He added, "In BJP, they have to search for CM candidate but in Congress, there are already many contestants. The leaders are decided by their hard work in Congress. In the BJP, the CM candidate is like a puppet of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah."
As the BJP aims for a third consecutive win in the Haryana assembly, Congress has raised concerns about inconsistencies in the vote count reported by the Election Commission.
