Gurugram biker says car chased her, hit bike and fled; incident caught on camera

Gurugram: A woman biker in Gurugram has alleged that a car chased her before hitting her motorcycle and fleeing the scene. The collision threw her off the bike, while the motorcycle was dragged several metres along the road.

The rider, who identifies herself as Sia and runs the Instagram page ‘rebelwheels_sia_’, shared footage of the incident online and described what she said happened on Sunday.

Biker alleges car chased her

According to Sia, she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 with members of her biking group on Golf Course Road when the incident took place.

In a video shared on Instagram, she alleged that the occupants of a car began following her shortly after she started riding. She claimed they behaved aggressively and asked her to stop after she requested that they maintain a safe distance.

Sia also alleged that the men appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

She said she continued riding in an attempt to prevent the car from blocking her path, while a friend riding behind her tried to keep the vehicle from coming alongside her.

According to her account, the car continued to follow her before the driver allegedly attempted to cut in front of her motorcycle. The vehicle then struck her bike, causing her to fall, before speeding away.

The incident was captured on an action camera mounted on her motorcycle.

Friend allegedly confronted driver

Sia said one of her friends chased the car after the collision and attempted to stop the driver.

The vehicle reportedly stopped at a traffic signal, where her friend confronted the driver and told him that the crash was his fault. However, Sia alleged that the driver denied responsibility and drove away from the spot.

Biker appeals to Gurugram Police

Following the incident, Sia appealed to the Gurugram Police to take action against motorists who allegedly put other road users at risk and flee after accidents.

In her video, she also shared the vehicle's registration number and identified the person listed as its registered owner.

Social media users seek action

The video has since gained traction on social media, with several users tagging the Delhi Police, Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police and Haryana Police and urging them to investigate the incident.

Some users called for an FIR to be registered, while others raised concerns about road safety and alleged rash driving on Gurugram's roads.

Gurugram Police has responded to her video, asking her to share her contact details and provide a copy of the complaint, if one has been filed.
