Girlfriend covers car in 3400 kiss marks, man fined Rs 5,500 in Gwalior

Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: A Gwalior man's unusual social media stunt took an expensive turn after his girlfriend covered his car with around 3,400 lipstick marks, prompting traffic police to impose a Rs 5,500 fine and order the marks to be removed.

The car, which had been driven around the city's streets for two days, attracted attention after a video showing the lipstick-covered vehicle went viral on social media.

Traffic police subsequently traced the vehicle to the Thatipur area and took its driver to the police station. The owner was fined for modifying the vehicle under the Motor Vehicles Act, an official said.

"Two days ago, a video went viral on social media showing a car with lipstick-like marks on its body moving in the City Centre area," Traffic Police Inspector Abhishek Raghuvanshi told reporters on Monday.

Following the investigation, police identified the vehicle and imposed a fine of Rs 5,500 on the driver. Officials also directed him to clean the car and remove all the lipstick marks from its body.

Car owner Aditya Sikarwar said his girlfriend got the idea from a "foreign trend" and decided to decorate the vehicle with lipstick marks.

"She spent about three and a half hours working to create 3,400 lipstick marks all over the car and then uploaded a video of it on social media," he said.

The stunt subsequently drew attention online before traffic police intervened.

Sikarwar said he was unaware that the modification could attract action under the law.

"Since I wasn't aware that doing so was illegal, after the police action, I cleaned the entire car body to remove the lipstick marks and paid a fine of Rs 5,500. One should never do anything that violates the law," he added.
