Four of a family die as wall collapses in heavy rain at Ullal, Karnataka

Mangaluru: Four persons of a family died in a tragic disaster in Mangaluru as the wall of the neighbouring house collapsed over their house in the heavy rain which has been lashing the region since Tuesday evening. According to the police, the disaster took place in the wee hours of Wednesday at Madani Nagar near Ullal, which is situated on Kerala-Karnataka border. 

The police said that, Yasir, house owner who was working at Mangaluru port, his wife and their two children, died in the accident. The police, fire and rescue force and the local residents had to struggle for hours to take out the mortal remains of the victims from the debris. 

The continuing  rains have been causing damages across the Southern Karnataka. 

Meanwhile, in Kerala, rainfall continues to intensify, with incidents of tree fall and damages being reported from various regions.
