Amaravati: Former Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister A Kali Krishna Srinivas, widely known as Alla Nani, passed away on Tuesday following a heart attack. He was 56. Leaders across political parties, including Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, expressed profound grief over his sudden death.

Srinivas served as Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister during the previous YSRCP administration. After losing the Eluru Assembly seat to TDP's B Radha Krishnayya in the 2024 elections, he later resigned from the YSRCP and joined the TDP.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu paid tribute in a post on X.

“The sudden demise of Alla Nani Garu (Kali Krishna Srinivas), former Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh state, has deeply shocked me. It is heartbreaking that he passed away due to a heart attack at the young age of 56. I express my profound condolences to his family. I pray to God that his soul attains eternal peace,” he wrote.

TDP working president and IT Minister Nara Lokesh also condoled his death on X, remembering Srinivas as a composed politician.

“The news of the death of TDP leader and former minister Aalla Nani due to a heart attack has caused profound shock. Paying my respects to the memory of Nani Garu.”

Lokesh added that Srinivas was known for avoiding controversies and maintaining warm relationships across the political spectrum.

“I convey my deepest condolences to his family members,” he added.
