Ex-Congress MLA Kunal Patil joins BJP

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced on Wednesday that Congress MLA Kunal Patil has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “Kunal Patil has expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He has not placed any demands or conditions for joining the party,” Bawankule said.
Welcoming Patil, newly appointed BJP state president Ravindra Chavan assured that the party would extend full support to him and work together to advance development in the Dhule district. BJP Dhule guardian minister Jaikumar Rawal also expressed his support and congratulated Patil on his decision.
Speaking to the media, Patil reflected on his family’s long-standing association with the Congress party. “For the past 75 years, my family has been loyal to Congress, and we have maintained strong ties across generations,” he said. “Leaving the party was not an easy choice, but I made this decision in the interest of the district’s development and upcoming projects. I also discussed it extensively with my supporters and secured their backing.”
With Patil’s switch to the BJP, the party aims to further strengthen its base in Dhule and accelerate development initiatives in the region.
