Maha polls: BJP at 21.07%, Congress close to 9% in party-wise vote share as counting progresses

The counting of votes for the Maharashtra Assembly elections began on Saturday at 8 AM across 288 counting centres. As per the latest data from the Election Commission of India website at 9:15 AM, with the counting still in progress, BJP is leading with 21.07% of the vote share, maintaining a commanding position in the race.

Following the BJP, SHS (Shiv Sena) has secured 15.51%, while the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) stands at 14.54%. The INC (Indian National Congress) holds 8.70%, securing fourth place.

Smaller parties such as MNS (0.86%) and BSP (0.43%) are trailing significantly, with negligible support. Parties like AIMIM, AIFB, and JUML have registered 0.00% of the vote share, showing little impact in the ongoing election.

Meanwhile, the NOTA (None of the Above) category has garnered 0.84% of the votes, surpassing some smaller parties. This figure points to a growing level of voter dissatisfaction or indecision, as a section of the electorate appears unwilling to back any of the available candidates.
