Chennai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at over ten locations in Tamil Nadu on Thursday in connection with a money laundering case.

The premises linked to Minister V. Senthil Balaji, private individuals, and a government contractor are under scrutiny.

According to IANS, ED officials, along with CRPF, raided multiple locations in Karur including the residences of Kongu Mess owner Mani, contractor M. Shankar Anand, and Sakthi Mess owner Karthi, all linked to Minister V. Minister Senthil Balaji's supporters.

Balaji was arrested by the ED on June 14, 2024, in connection with a money laundering case linked to a cash-for-jobs scam. After serving time in prison, he was released and later reinducted into the DMK-led government as the Minister for Electricity, Prohibition, and Excise.
