Dwarka fire tragedy: Man and two children die after jumping from eighth floor to escape blaze

New Delhi: A devastating fire broke out on Tuesday morning at the Shabad Society residential complex in Delhi’s Dwarka Sector 13, claiming three lives and injuring two others from the same family.
The incident occurred around 9:58 AM and affected the eighth and ninth floors of the building.

The victims were identified as Yash Yadav, 35, a flex board business owner, his 10-year-old son, and his young daughter. As flames rapidly engulfed their flat, Yadav reportedly jumped from the balcony with his children in an attempt to escape. All three were rushed to IGI Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.
Yadav’s wife and elder son, who were also in the flat at the time, managed to escape and are currently under medical treatment. Their condition remains stable, according to hospital sources.
Thirteen fire tenders and 88 firefighters from Delhi Fire Services (DFS) were deployed to battle the flames and carry out rescue operations. DFS officials confirmed that all other residents were safely evacuated.
As a precautionary measure, electricity and piped natural gas (PNG) supply to the building were cut off. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
