Delhi widow pension scheme: Beneficiaries asked to complete digital verification by Apr 15

New Delhi: The Delhi government has asked all district offices to complete the widow pension verification process under the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) by April 15, making Digital Life Certificate (DLC) submission mandatory for beneficiaries.
In an order issued by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), officials have been directed to carry out verification using a mobile-based Beneficiary Satyapan App (BSA). The move follows guidelines from the Ministry of Rural Development under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).
The government said the step is aimed at ensuring accurate beneficiary verification, reducing errors, and improving direct benefit transfer (DBT) efficiency. District authorities have been instructed to follow the set guidelines and finish the process within the deadline.
To support the rollout, a demo video explaining how to use the app will be shared with officials. In case of technical issues, district teams can reach out to designated support officers.
The IGNWPS widow pension scheme provides financial assistance to widows from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. Under the scheme:
- Women aged 40 to 79 receive ₹300 per month
- Those aged 80 and above receive ₹500 per month.
