Delhi Police transfers second case against CJP leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka to Crime Branch

Delhi Police has transferred a second case against Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka to the Crime Branch, sources said. The move means the Crime Branch will now investigate two cases involving the party leaders.
The latest transfer follows the earlier handover of a case linked to the alleged entry of Das and Ranka into the Jantar Mantar area, which was transferred to the Crime Branch on Monday.
Two FIRs registered over Jantar Mantar incident
According to Delhi Police, Das, Ranka, Ajinkya Shinde and 11 other CJP members reached Jantar Mantar on October 13 by allegedly trespassing through private premises. The area had been denotified as a designated protest site, police said.
Police personnel deployed at the location intervened and attempted to stop the group. All 14 people were detained, and two FIRs were registered in connection with the incident.
CJP leaders' judicial custody extended
Das and Ranka were sent to five days of judicial custody on October 14 by a Special Executive Magistrate for allegedly breaching peace bonds. Their judicial custody was extended by another two days on Monday.
With the latest transfer, both cases against the CJP leaders are now under the Crime Branch's investigation.
