Rain and thundershowers forecast for Delhi-NCR as AQI remains moderate

New Delhi: Heavy clouds, light rain, and thundershowers are expected to cover Delhi-NCR on Tuesday, with precipitation likely picking up during the afternoon and evening hours, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Wetter conditions are anticipated across the national capital region starting Tuesday, bringing intermittent spells of rain and thundershowers over the coming days.

In Delhi, temperatures are projected to range from a minimum of 26°C to a maximum of 34°C. While conditions will start partly cloudy, rain and thunderstorm activity will pick up later in the day, leading into more widespread rainfall on September 2.

• Noida: Partly cloudy skies with rain expected later in the day. Temperatures will hover between 25°C and 34°C, with increased rainfall predicted over the coming days.

• Gurugram: A mix of sun and clouds on Tuesday, with a peak temperature of 34°C. Rain chances will rise starting September 2.

• Ghaziabad: Starting partly sunny before turning cloudy, with light afternoon rain possible. Temperatures will range between 26°C and 35°C, with no severe weather warnings issued.

• Faridabad: Partly cloudy and warm conditions, with potential afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 28°C to 37°C without formal warnings.

Outside the capital region, the IMD has warned of very heavy rainfall in parts of Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, with isolated heavy downpours expected in Odisha and Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.

Air quality across Delhi-NCR remained largely in the 'moderate' category. Air Quality Index (AQI) readings across regional monitoring stations included:
