Death of West Bengal man in Kerala: TMC accuses BJP of ignoring family’s pleas

Nandigram, West Bengal: All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on Friday reported that Bhim Charan Barik, a 45-year-old mason from Birulia, Nandigram, died in a workplace accident in Kerala, leaving his family struggling to bring his body home.
The party said that despite Barik being a resident of Nandigram, represented by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, neither he nor the party responded to the family’s pleas for assistance.
Abhishek Banerjee personally intervenes
AITC highlighted that MP Abhishek Banerjee personally ensured all necessary support for the family. Following his instructions, party worker Dev received Barik’s body at Dumdum Airport and accompanied it to Nandigram, guaranteeing a dignified final journey.
Pingla MLA Ajit Maity and other TMC leaders were present to console the bereaved family and offer full support. AITC stated: “Compassion is not a political act, it is the very foundation of public service.”
