MK Stalin’s mother Dayalu Ammal admitted to hospital following health issues

Chennai: Dayalu Ammal, the wife of the late former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and mother of DMK President MK Stalin, was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Tuesday following health complications.

The nonagenarian has experienced age-related health ailments for the past several years and has been receiving ongoing medical care at her residence in the Gopalapuram neighbourhood.

Following a sudden decline in her condition, she was transported to a private medical facility. Hospital sources stated that she received immediate medical treatment and remains under the close monitoring of a specialised team of physicians. Her condition is currently reported as stable, according to sources.

Upon being notified of her hospitalisation, Stalin and other family members travelled to the facility. The DMK leader conducted detailed consultations with the senior medical team regarding his mother's ongoing treatment plan.

Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin, along with several other family members, also visited the hospital to check on her condition.
