Creatorland: India's first transmedia entertainment city to be built in Andhra Pradesh

Mumbai: In a landmark move for India’s entertainment and tourism sectors, CreativeLand Asia (CLA) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up the country’s first Transmedia Entertainment City — Creatorland — in Andhra Pradesh.

The project, announced at the WAVES Summit in Mumbai (May 1–4), was unveiled in the presence of key dignitaries, including Kandula Durgesh, Minister for Tourism and Entertainment, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Amrapali Kata, CEO of Tourism. Sajan Raj Kurup, Founder of Creativeland Studios Entertainment and Chairman of Creators Inc. London, also attended the signing, alongside members of a global advisory board comprising top names from the global entertainment industry.

Creatorland will feature immersive theme parks, cutting-edge gaming zones, esports arenas, and international cinema co-production facilities. The development is expected to attract investments of Rs 8,000–10,000 crore over the next 5–6 years. A Virtual Studio Complex, equipped with AI-based real-time rendering and volumetric capture technologies, will be a key component.

The venture also includes the launch of Creatorland Academy, aimed at training youth in areas such as VFX, AI, gaming, and immersive storytelling. Over 10,000 youth are expected to be skilled annually, with projections of 150,000+ jobs across entertainment, technology, and tourism sectors.

CLA is reportedly in discussions with over 20 international studios to make India their production hub, with Creatorland serving as a central platform for cross-border collaboration, generative AI-driven content, VFX workflows, and R&D.
