Cockroaches to speak now! CJP appoints 3 high-profile spokespersons ahead of Delhi protest

New Delhi: In a major step towards formalising its structure, the viral online phenomenon-turned-political youth pressure group, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has officially named three prominent figures as its national spokespersons. The decision, aimed at "changing India's political discourse", comes right on the heels of renowned activist and educator Sonam Wangchuk pledging his support to the movement.
The CJP has appointed investigative journalist Saurav Das as its chief spokesperson, alongside political researcher and filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya, and IIT alumnus Ashutosh Ranka. The trio will address the party’s maiden press conference, in which they are expected to outline the roadmap for their upcoming national agitation.
From satire to structure: A growing pressure group
What began last month as a viral satirical post by founder Abhijeet Dipke has rapidly evolved into a structured youth movement. The appointment of the three spokespersons adds a serious layer of credibility and strategic depth to the platform's ranks.
- Saurav Das (Chief spokesperson): An investigative journalist with years of experience reporting on critical legal, judicial and social matters. Das is a familiar face in public advocacy, having previously spearheaded the anti-pollution protests at India Gate in November 2025.
- Vijeta Dahiya: A writer, content creator and filmmaker with an engineering background from Delhi Technological University. Dahiya brings a formidable track record in political research and strategic analysis, having authored two best-selling books.
- Ashutosh Ranka: An alumnus of IIT Kanpur and the London School of Economics. Ranka formerly worked with global management consulting firm McKinsey in London before returning to India last year, where he led key public movements in Jaipur concerning environmental and youth issues, including the NEET paper leak controversy.
Saturday protests and NEET controversy
The newly minted spokespersons will use their first media briefing to share critical details regarding a massive sit-in protest scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
The demonstration coincides with the return of founder Abhijeet Dipke from the United States. Dipke has issued a rallying cry to supporters to join the collective youth movement, while intensifying his attack on the Central Government.
The CJP’s primary demand remains the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the recent NEET-UG fiasco.
