‘All our demands have been accepted’: CJP calls off Jantar Mantar protest | WATCH

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday announced the immediate withdrawal of its nationwide agitation after stating that the Centre had accepted all of its demands, including the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, withdrawal of cases against protesters and a commitment to discuss broader education reforms.

The announcement came during a joint press conference addressed by Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh alongside members of the CJP delegation, shortly after Pradhan stepped down amid the escalating NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the organisation was ending the protest with immediate effect.

"All our demands have been accepted. We request the protesters to peacefully withdraw the protest with immediate effect," Ranka said.

Another CJP spokesperson, Saurav Das, said the government had agreed to withdraw all FIRs registered against protesters, not only in Delhi but also in BJP-ruled and BJP-allied states.

"Our second demand, that all FIRs filed against all protesters, not just in Delhi but in all BJP-ruled and BJP-allied states, be withdrawn, has also been accepted. This withdrawal will happen shortly," Das said.

He added that the government had also agreed that no action would be taken in future against protesters, CJP members or the organisers of the agitation.

"On this understanding, we have shared a draft with the government, a written guarantee, and the government has said they will share it with us by Tuesday," he said.

Ranka said the organisation had already submitted its charter of demands to the government and that further discussions on education reforms would continue.

"We have submitted our charter of demands to the government. It was submitted yesterday, and our delegation will meet the government again in the next four weeks to discuss that charter," he said.

Appealing for a peaceful conclusion to the demonstrations, Ranka urged supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar and other protest sites across the country to disperse.

"For now, we request all our supporters and protesters, whether they are present at Jantar Mantar or at other locations, to withdraw peacefully," he said.

The CJP's protest, which began over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, had evolved into a broader campaign seeking accountability, reforms in the examination system and action against those responsible for irregularities. The organisation said it would continue to engage with the government on its wider reform agenda in the coming weeks.
