‘Liquor is allowed inside school...’ CJP raises concerns over Nagpur government school conditions

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has raised concerns over the alleged condition of government schools in Nagpur, claiming that students are being forced to study amid inadequate infrastructure and a lack of basic facilities.

In a post on X, the party alleged that liquor and other intoxicants are being consumed on school premises and questioned the authorities over security concerns linked to inspections.

“Liquor is allowed inside school, but inspecting it raises Security Concerns?” the CJP said.

The party further alleged that people have been seen consuming drugs and other intoxicants on school premises.

“People have been seen consuming drugs and other intoxicants on the school premises,” the party said.

CJP also highlighted what it described as shortcomings in basic student facilities, including dirty and unusable washrooms, inadequate drinking water, unsafe food and insufficient classrooms.

According to the party, a shortage of classrooms has resulted in students from different classes being made to sit together. It also claimed that some students in Class 7 have yet to receive their Class 5 mark sheets.

“Even 7th std students still haven’t received their 5th mark sheets,” CJP alleged.

Questioning the conditions in which students are expected to attend school, the party said, “How are we supposed to send our children to a school in such conditions?”

CJP called on the authorities to address the alleged deficiencies and improve conditions at the schools.

“We urge the authorities to fix these schools ASAP,” the party said.

Meanwhile, a government school building whose rickety condition was exposed by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) members last month was razed by authorities.

The old building of Government Primary School, Rampura (Kanwarpura), was bulldozed in the presence of district administration and education department officials.

"The building has been demolished," an official said.

The school had been declared dilapidated and unsafe following a technical survey in September 2025 and was subsequently taken out of use.

The Rajasthan government last month announced that a new school building would soon be built at Rs 18 lakh.

Of the corpus, Rs 12 lakh was sanctioned from the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) on August 13 and another Rs 6 lakh from the MLA fund.

The school hit the headlines after a CJP team visited Rampura village last month as part of its 'School Thik Karo' campaign to highlight the condition of government schools.

The visit led to a confrontation between CJP members and villagers and FIRs from both sides.
