Power was reportedly cut at the Galgotias University pavilion at the AI Summit on Wednesday afternoon. The development followed instructions from authorities asking the university to vacate its stall at the India AI Impact Summit Expo. The video from pavilion has been shared by news agency PTI.

The action came after allegations that a robotic dog presented as an innovation resembled the Chinese-made Unitree Go2 product. Sources cited by Press Trust of India said the university had been directed to clear the stall.

However, the institution maintained it had received no formal communication about such a directive. Professor Neha Singh described the episode as a possible communication gap, stating the university never claimed to have manufactured the robot and had displayed it only to inspire students.

Political criticism from Rahul Gandhi and Indian National Congress; response focus on Ashwini Vaishnaw

The controversy soon took a political turn. Rahul Gandhi and the Indian National Congress criticised both the summit and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Their comments shifted attention from the technical showcase to broader questions about presentation and oversight at the high-profile event. The criticism added another layer to what had begun as a dispute over a single exhibit.

Summit inaugurated by Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam

The summit itself was inaugurated by Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam. It forms part of national efforts to expand artificial intelligence adoption under the IndiaAI Mission and the Digital India initiative.

Despite the wider ambitions of the event, the dispute around the university pavilion has drawn significant attention, highlighting sensitivities surrounding innovation claims and technology sourcing.
