Chief of Defence Staff reviews northern, western commands post Operation Sindoor

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited the Indian Army’s Northern Command in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, and Western Command in Chandimandir, Haryana, on Sunday to conduct a comprehensive strategic review and operational assessment as a follow up of Operation Sindoor.
During his visit, Gen Chauhan interacted with the Army Commanders, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma and Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, and senior staff officers who were actively involved in the planning and execution of Operation Sindoor. He conducted a strategic review and operational assessment in the Northern and Western theatres during the visit.
At Udhampur, the CDS was briefed on the success of the Northern Army in neutralising the terror network, the adversary’s assets that supported terror and countermeasures.
Commending the synergy between units and the timely execution of tasks under demanding conditions, Gen Chauhan emphasised the importance of sustained vigilance and enhanced jointness across the Services to counter evolving threats in the region.
