Delhi Excise Policy Case: CBI files chargesheet against Kejriwal

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday in connection with the excise policy case. The chargesheet was filed before Special CBI Judge Kaveri Baweja in Rouse Avenue Court.

This move comes as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities related to the high-profile case, which has drawn considerable public and political attention. Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also filed a chargesheet against Kejriwal.

Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged liquor scam. He was later arrested by the CBI after securing bail from a trial court.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has come out in support of Kejriwal, with party leader Pathak claiming that the CBI's move is aimed at keeping him "forcibly imprisoned and tortured" and putting his life at risk.

However, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has criticized Pathak's statement, calling it an "insult" to freedom fighters and emergency detainees. Kapoor also argued that diabetes, which Kejriwal suffers from, is a manageable condition and cannot be a mandatory condition for bail.
