Punjab: In a major anti-smuggling operation, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and Punjab Police recovered a drone and approximately 1 kilogram of heroin in the Ferozepur sector near the Pakistan border over the past 24 hours, officials confirmed.

On Friday, a joint search operation was launched which led to the recovery of a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone and a packet of heroin weighing around 558 grams from a farming field adjacent to Dal village in Tarn Taran district, part of the Ferozepur sector.

On Saturday morning, another search operation by BSF and Punjab Police teams resulted in the recovery of an additional heroin packet weighing approximately 560 grams from a farming field near Chudi Wala village in Ferozepur district.

Officials noted that in another operation on Friday evening, a drone of the same model (DJI Mavic 3 Classic) along with two heroin packets was also seized in Tarn Taran district.

Authorities suspect that the drone was used for smuggling narcotics across the Pakistan border, a method increasingly observed in recent months. Search operations have been intensified in the border areas to curb such activities.
