New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said board examinations are the foundation for future opportunities, urging students to treat them as a top priority during the ninth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026.

Speaking at the interactive session with students, teachers and parents from across India, Modi highlighted the critical role of board exams in shaping a student’s academic and professional journey.

“Board exams should not be taken lightly. Disciplined preparation and clarity of concepts are essential for success,” the Prime Minister said, addressing growing exam pressure and student stress ahead of the board examination season.

Board syllabus key to competitive exams

PM Modi advised students to focus on mastering the board syllabus, noting that a strong grasp of prescribed chapters naturally prepares them for competitive exams.

“If you understand your board syllabus well, you don’t need to put in a lot of extra effort for competitive exams,” he said, adding that clear concepts and proper study habits help students prepare for both simultaneously, reducing stress and duplication of effort.

Focus on exam stress and mental well-being

The session featured candid exchanges, with students raising questions about exam anxiety, career choices and effective study techniques. Teachers and parents also participated, seeking guidance on supporting children during this high-pressure period.

Modi’s responses combined encouragement with practical strategies, reinforcing the message that exams should be approached with confidence, not fear.

National platform for student guidance

The annual Pariksha Pe Charcha programme, now in its ninth year, has become a key fixture in India’s academic calendar. It aims to help students overcome exam stress, build confidence and make informed career decisions.

This year’s edition introduced a refreshed format, placing greater emphasis on nationwide student engagement and direct interaction with the Prime Minister.

By addressing academic pressure and promoting resilience, clarity and focus, Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 continues to inspire students and strengthen the connection between young learners and national leadership.
