From blood donation to 'Kalash Yatra': How BJP plans to celebrate PM Modi’s 25 years in governance
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin announced on Wednesday that the party will initiate a month-long nationwide campaign titled 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' beginning 17 September to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday and commemorate his 25 years of public service.
Addressing a press conference in the capital, Nabin outlined the party's schedule for the outreach initiative, noting that 17 September will be observed across the country as 'Seva Diwas'.
"Today, we are present before you to discuss the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'. On October 7, 2026, Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi will complete 25 years of public service and dedication," Nabin told reporters.
As part of the nationwide events, the party will organise the 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' programme on 17 September to express gratitude for the Prime Minister's quarter-century of public service.
In social media posts on X, the BJP detailed that party workers and members of the public will participate in various events across the country, commencing with a nationwide blood donation drive.
The party also confirmed that its annual cleanliness drive will be held on 2 October.
Furthermore, the BJP announced it will host a 'Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra' to mark Prime Minister Modi completing 25 years as head of government on 7 October.
As part of the anniversary event, bike rallies and foot marches (padayatras) will be conducted, during which citizens across the country will take a pledge to build a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).
Highlighting economic and social achievements under Modi's leadership during the press conference, Nabin stated that the Prime Minister had brought about women-led development while offering new hope to the nation's youth.
Nabin added that 25 crore families had been lifted out of poverty during Modi's tenure, asserting that India had transformed from one of the world's "fragile five" economies into a fast-growing economic power under his stewardship.
