'Godse only fired one bullet...Nehru himself might have arranged Gandhi's assassination': BJP leader

Hubballi: Karnataka BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal stirred controversy on Monday with claims suggesting that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru may have orchestrated the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
Yatnal, while speaking to reporters, questioned the circumstances surrounding Gandhi's death, stating that although Nathuram Godse fired one bullet, Gandhi's body had three bullets.
"One bullet fired by Godse hit Gandhi, but his body had three bullets. From where did two more bullets come? Who arranged that? Did Nehru arrange that? I suspect that Nehru arranged the assassination because he wanted to be a dictator. Gandhi did not breathe his last due to the bullet fired by Godse...," he said.
Yatnal's remarks come amid an escalating political battle within the Karnataka BJP. He has intensified his criticism of B Y Vijayendra, the party's state vice-president, and made it clear that he does not accept Vijayendra's leadership as the potential future state president. Yatnal accused Vijayendra of "misdeeds," adding that the party high command was aware of these issues, which he claimed was the reason for planning elections for the party president's post.
These controversial remarks have drawn attention amid ongoing internal party disputes and the upcoming leadership elections within the Karnataka BJP.
