Rs 21,000 for pregnant woman, free bus travel; BJP unveils women-centric Delhi election manifesto

New Delhi: Union Minister JP Nadda today released the first part of the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Delhi elections, set for February 5, focusing on women-centric welfare measures. The party's 'Sankalp Patra' promises Rs 21,000 as one-time financial assistance to pregnant women, along with six nutritional kits, and Rs 5,000 for the first child and Rs 6,000 for the second child. Nadda also announced the Mahila Smriddhi Yojana to support women.
The BJP leader assured voters that all public welfare schemes in Delhi would continue if the party comes to power, and also pledged to implement the central government's Ayushman Bharat health scheme in the city. He added that senior citizens would receive an additional health cover of Rs 5 lakh, bringing the total health cover to Rs 10 lakh.
A pension scheme for senior citizens was also introduced, offering Rs 2,000-2,500 for those aged 60-70 and Rs 3,000 for those above 70. Nadda further promised to set up Atal Canteens in every slum, where a full meal would be available for just Rs 5.
Nadda criticized AAP’s Mohalla Clinics, calling them "dens of corruption and inefficiency."
