Nitish Kumar files Rajya Sabha nomination in presence of Amit Shah

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar officially filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections on Thursday.

The high-profile filing took place at the Bihar Legislative Assembly in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Kumar was joined by other prominent NDA figures, including: Nitin Nabin: BJP National President and Rajya Sabha candidate, Samrat Choudhary: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, Ramnath Thakur: Union Minister and JD(U) leader, who also filed his nomination.

Earlier in the day, the 75-year-old JD(U) supremo took to social media to explain that his move to the Upper House is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

What happens to the CM post?

With Nitish Kumar heading to New Delhi, the focus now turns to his successor. Political circles are abuzz with reports that the BJP is set to claim the Chief Minister's post for the first time in Bihar’s history.

The Frontrunners: Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and MoS Nityanand Rai are among the names being discussed as potential replacements.
