32 airports reopened as India-Pakistan conflict eases

New Delhi: Civil aviation authorities has reopened the 32 airports across northern and western India that were temporarily closed for civilian flight operations with immediate effect.

These were closed due to last week’s military tensions between India and Pakistan, official sources confirmed on Monday.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI), in coordination with other aviation regulators, had suspended civil flights from 9 to 15 May, issuing a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) in response to the escalating security situation. Major airports affected by the shutdown included Srinagar, Amritsar, and others situated close to sensitive border areas.

The precautionary closures were implemented amid heightened tensions following military action and cross-border hostilities between the two nations. With a ceasefire now in effect, authorities have begun restoring normal operations.
