Just after Akasa Air and IndiGo announced their scheduled flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport, Air India Express has also jumped in to start operating from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) from the very first day the airport opens for commercial operations. The new airport will begin services on 25 December 2025, and Air India Express will be among the first airlines to fly from there.

On the launch day, the airline will operate daily flights to Bengaluru and five weekly flights to Delhi (on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday).

From 1 January 2026, Air India Express will increase capacity significantly by offering two flights a day on both the Bengaluru and Delhi routes.

Tickets are already available on the airline’s website, mobile app, and major travel booking platforms.

Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, said the airline is delighted to begin operations at NMIA from day one. He noted that the new airport will ease pressure on Mumbai’s existing airport and support faster growth in the region. He also said that passengers will get direct connections to Bengaluru and Delhi, along with smooth onward connections on both Air India Express and Air India networks. More routes will be added gradually as operations expand.

The new services from Navi Mumbai also support the airline’s expanding network from Bengaluru, which remains one of its major hubs. From Bengaluru alone, Air India Express now operates more than 530 weekly flights, including new routes to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. It has also added international services to Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh.
