‘Lawrence Bishnoi Sahab’: CJP's Abhijeet Dipke slams Delhi Police for giving ‘courtesy to gangsters’

New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) activist Abhijeet Dipke criticised law enforcement authorities on Monday regarding their treatment of organised crime figures compared to political demonstrators, questioning the core priorities of the police force following the recent shooting incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff.
In a post published on X, Dipke shared a video clip from a media briefing wherein East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Dhania referred to jailed mobster Lawrence Bishnoi as “Lawrence Bishnoi Sahab”.
"Lawrence Bishnoi Sahab. The respect Delhi Police has for gangsters… Wish they showed even 10% of this courtesy to students and activists who are doing nothing but protest," Dipke wrote.

In a another social media post, Dipke urged law enforcement agencies to direct their operational focus toward criminal syndicates rather than targeting civic demonstrators and student activists.
“Instead of cracking down on students and activists, the police should focus on actual criminals. This is what happens when the Govt and police have their priorities completely misplaced,” he said.
According to police disclosures, three to four gunshots were discharged at the actor's automobile as he was departing a public ground. A large assembly of onlookers had gathered at the venue to observe the actor when the shots were fired from within the crowd.

The actor escaped uninjured, whilst law enforcement officers continue to investigate the assault and establish the precise context surrounding the gunfire. Two individuals sustained injuries during the shooting, including Tiger Shroff's chauffeur, Firdaus, who suffered a gunshot injury to his left arm.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis offered assurances that a rigorous police investigation remains active and that the perpetrators will be apprehended swiftly.
“There is absolutely no reason to be afraid. These are the actions of cowards—yes, I repeat, cowards. They hide away somewhere and use communication channels to issue threats. However, we take every single threat seriously and take appropriate action. I want to assure you that the Mumbai Police is a professional force. Time and again, the Mumbai Police has demonstrated that they will not rest until such criminals are apprehended. Mumbai Police will find the culprits and arrest them soon,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police have organised 15 specialised investigative squads to probe the crime.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against three unidentified suspects in connection with the gun attack on the film star, son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff.
The FIR was lodged under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act, according to Mumbai Police.
A comprehensive police enquiry continues to determine the identities of the perpetrators, with further developments expected.
