Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh : A 75-year-old man who recently remarried in hopes of companionship died unexpectedly just hours after the wedding, prompting suspicion among family members and villagers.

As per media reports, the incident took place in Kuchhmuchh village in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district on the morning of Tuesday, September 30. The deceased, Sangruram, had been living alone since the death of his first wife a year ago. With no children and few close relatives nearby, he sustained himself through farming.

Despite family objections, Sangruram went ahead with his decision to remarry. On Monday, September 29, he married 35-year-old Manbhavati, a woman from the Jalalpur area. The couple first registered the marriage in court and later held a traditional ceremony at a local temple.

According to Manbhavati, this was her second marriage, and she has three children from her previous relationship. She told villagers that Sangruram had assured her he would take care of her and the children, and that she would only need to manage the household. Speaking after the wedding, she said the couple had spent much of the night talking.

However, by the following morning, Sangruram’s health reportedly deteriorated suddenly. He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The exact cause of death remains unconfirmed.

The sudden death has sparked controversy in the village. While some believe it to be a natural occurrence, others, including members of the deceased’s family, have raised doubts about the circumstances. His nephews, who live in Delhi, have halted the funeral proceedings and insisted that no rites be performed until their arrival. They have also questioned whether a police inquiry or post-mortem examination will be conducted.

As of now, no formal investigation has been announced.
