EKM taxi driver salutes highway police officers for turning good Samaritan for stranded passengers

Perumbavoor: Though many are often quick to judge and criticise Kerala police officers, there are a few who commend their efforts. One such social media post made by Pampakuda native Ranjith, about the help he received from the highway police during his journey to the airport yesterday, is making rounds.
Ranjith was driving to the Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery along with some people who were headed to Kuwait. When they reached Pulluvazhy, the tyre of their car turned flat. There were six people in the car, including two small children. An attempt was made to change the tyre but the hydraulic jack failed. The time was 1 AM and it was raining heavily. The passengers stepped out in the rain and waved at the vehicles passing by for help but none stopped. Ranjith thought of getting another car from Pampakuda but this would lead to the family missing their flight.
As the passengers wondered what to do next, the highway police team, led by SI C.M Mujeeb reached the spot. After listening to their woes, the police team assured the passengers of helping them reach the airport in time. One of the police officers flagged down a car passing by and sent the passengers to the airport in it. The police returned only after helping Ranjith change the flat tyre and sending him off.
Ranjith and the family who were able to make it to the airport in time, made a post on Facebook, thanking the police officers for their intervention. Ranjith has been running a taxi service in Pampakuda for many years.
