‘From then on, I never stopped travelling’: Kerala juice seller visits 10 nations and dreams bigger

Kannur (Kerala): For nearly three decades, Hashim V P from Pappinisseri has been running a humble sugarcane juice stall outside the Jawahar Municipal Stadium in Kannur. What many see as a small street business has, for him, become a passport to the world.
From a modest livelihood, Hashim gradually built a life centred around his greatest passion — travelling. Today, the 67-year-old juice seller has explored 10 countries, turning his long-nurtured dream into reality.
His international journeys have taken him to Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Malaysia, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. And he isn’t done yet. His next destination is China, a trip he plans to make in the coming months with his wife and elder brother.
Speaking to ANI, Hashim said, "I travelled to 10 countries so far – Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Malaysia, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The last trip I did was to Turkey; it is beautiful. Now, after 3 months, I'm planning to visit China."
Despite earning solely from his sugarcane juice stall, Hashim has managed to explore destinations far beyond Kerala, with his wife Haseena accompanying him on every international adventure.
His wanderlust began a little over a decade ago. Hashim recalled that his first major trip was to Delhi in 2012. June and July being the off-season for his business, he would usually close the stall and remain at home. But a conversation with his elder brother changed the course of his life.
It was his brother’s encouragement — emphasising the value of travel and the lessons it offers — that ignited the spark. Since then, Hashim hasn’t stopped. He continues to explore India and countries abroad, embracing new experiences whenever life allows.
"From then on, I have not stopped travelling and continue to explore new places whenever I can," he said.
