Woman posing as Kerala HC advocate extorts money from man promising job

Kochi: A woman has been arrested in connection with a fraud case involving the promise of a job at the High Court. Jisha K. Joy, 41, from Mundukottackal, was taken into custody by the South Police.
The police confirmed that Jisha faces multiple cases in various locations, including Pathanamthitta, Ranni, and Thiruvalla, related to the fraudulent activities. The arrest was made following a complaint from a man from Kochi.
According to the complainant, Jisha claimed to be an advocate in the High Court and assured him that her name was on the selected list of candidates for the magistrate examination. She convinced him that she could secure him a position as an assistant in the High Court.
Jisha allegedly took Rs 2.15 lakh from the victim for the job and later requested an additional Rs 6.5 lakh for her relative's education in America. However, when the promised job and funds failed to materialise, the victim reported the matter to the police.
Subsequent investigations led to Jisha's arrest.
