Thiruvananthapuram: A 16-year-old boy was brutally attacked by his close friends over allegations that he had made disrespectful remarks about a girl who was friends with the attackers. The victim, who had been classmates and close friends with the attackers, revealed the disturbing details of the assault.

According to the victim, he and the attackers had shared a strong bond, having studied together until class 10. "They were my classmates. We studied together until class 10. I wouldn't even go anywhere without them. We were so close," the victim said.

The attack took place when his friends accused him of making derogatory comments about a girl friend. The victim, however, maintained that he had only seen the girl on the roads. Despite his explanation, the friends took matters into their own hands, pulling the victim out of his house and dragging him to a nearby field.

The victim was subjected to a brutal beating by the attackers, leaving him dizzy. His younger brother was also beaten up during the incident. The assault continued until a passerby, hearing the screams of the younger brother, arrived on the scene, and the attackers fled.

The attackers then threatened to kill the victim and his brother if they reported the incident to anyone. Fearing for their lives, the victim and his brother kept the assault a secret from their mother.

The violence did not stop there. The attackers recorded the beating on their phones and shared the footage on social media groups, boasting about the incident. It was through this social media video that the incident eventually came to light. The victim’s parents found the video and immediately filed a complaint with the Aryanad police.

Following the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and forwarded the case to the Child Line for further action. The authorities confirmed that three juveniles were involved in the attack, though the assault was carried out by a gang of five. The three primary attackers are set to be transferred to a care home on Tuesday.
