A 20-year-old pregnant woman and content creator from Telangana was allegedly killed by her husband in a shocking incident reported from Madhapur village in Jagtial district, near Hyderabad.

The victim, identified as C Vaishnavi, had built a significant presence on social media through her family-oriented YouTube channel, where she had around 50,000 subscribers.

She also enjoyed a following of over 91,000 on Instagram. Just weeks before her death, she had shared a video announcing her pregnancy and had continued updating her audience about her health.

In one of her recent uploads, Vaishnavi spoke about visiting the doctor and reassured viewers that her scan results were normal. She also mentioned taking a short break from content creation due to her condition.

According to police officials, Vaishnavi was discovered dead in her home on Monday morning, lying in a pool of blood. Her mother and aunt reportedly witnessed her husband fleeing the scene on a motorcycle shortly before they found her.

Investigators have named her husband, Gandam Hari, also referred to in some reports as Hariprasad, as the primary suspect. He is currently on the run. Police stated that the woman appeared to have been strangled before being attacked with a knife, with multiple injuries found on her neck and chest.

Vaishnavi’s father has lodged a formal complaint at the Korutla police station, alleging that his daughter had been facing harassment related to dowry demands from her husband and his family. He also claimed that her growing popularity on social media had led to tensions within the marriage.

Preliminary findings suggest that an argument between the couple on the night prior to the incident may have escalated into violence. Officials added that the couple had been married for around 10 months and had recently moved into Vaishnavi’s parental home due to disputes with her in-laws.

Police are also examining whether any members of the accused’s family played a role in the crime or helped him evade arrest. A manhunt is currently underway to trace the absconding husband, who is said to be employed at a private hospital.
