Ex-AAP candidate found hanging in Rajkot flat, family alleges murder by live-in partner

Rajkot: The death of a former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) election candidate in Gujarat's Rajkot has triggered controversy after her family alleged that she was murdered and the incident was made to look like a suicide.
Nandani Bosamiya, 23, was found hanging inside a flat in the Agaman City residential complex near Gondal Chowkdi on Wednesday.
Bosamiya, a native of Jetpur, had contested municipal elections as an AAP candidate last year. According to police, an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her death.
The case took a dramatic turn after family members accused her live-in partner, Aslam Hussain Sama, of being responsible for her death.
Her father claimed that Nandani had repeatedly complained about mental and physical harassment during the relationship and had shared her concerns with relatives on several occasions.
Before her death, Bosamiya reportedly posted a message on social media alleging harassment by her live-in partner, a development that has added to public scrutiny of the case. Investigators are examining the post as part of the probe.
Police said she worked as a medical representative after completing her studies, and had met Aslam while living in Junagadh.
The two later entered into a friendship agreement and began living together in Rajkot despite opposition from their families.
Her father has questioned the circumstances at the scene, alleging that the flat's main door was not locked and that the balcony door was found open when family members arrived.
He has demanded a thorough investigation and insisted that the death should not be treated as a simple case of suicide.
Police officials have not confirmed any foul play so far and are awaiting forensic findings and other evidence before drawing conclusions. Further investigation is in progress.
